Norfolk's very own mermaid is hoping her latest project will make a splash and encourage people to stop littering on our beaches.

Hannah Griffiths, also known as Hannah Pearl, has taken part in a striking photo shoot to highlight the damage plastic causes to marine life.

The 35-year-old from Acle, who works as a professional mermaid, appearing at events and parties, headed to Caister beach with a colourful tail, for the photo shoot.

Miss Griffiths hopes the pictures will encourage people to be 'more responsible and help keep our beaches and oceans plastic free'.

They are also intended to raise awareness for Surfers Against Sewage, a marine conservation charity working to protect oceans, waves, beaches and wildlife.
