Hundreds of people from the Norfolk and Norwich Friends of the Earth group (NNFoE) travelled down to London today to join thousands more in the People's Climate March.

The march takes place on the eve of the United Nations 21st Conference of the Parties, which will see world leaders and representatives from around 150 countries coming together in Paris to try and agree a global legally binding climate treaty.

The conference will be running until Friday, December 11 in the hope that a method and agreement can be made to limit global warming.

NNFoE were joined by local members of Greenpeace, Christian Aid, Women's Institute and The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, along with students from the University of East Anglia.

Everybody involved wanted to send a message to the government and demand that they take action against global warming.

The group's climate and energy campaigner, Michael Uwins said: 'We believe that the UK Government is falling behind other developed nations in facing-up to climate change.

'Once a leading voice at UN climate conferences, they are now seen as sadly lacking urgency. As our politicians set off for the Paris Climate talks, our demands need to be ringing in their ears.

'We say no to dirty energy, yes to renewables and climate jobs, along with justice for those affected by climate change.

'The Prime Minister famously once said 'This is the greenest government ever' however, fracking and fossil fuels are high on their agenda whilst aeroplane pollution, a lack of investment in clean, renewable energy and divestment from fossil fuel are pushed to the side-lines.'
