Norfolk firm submits new plans for wind turbines near Eye
A Norfolk-based green energy firm has submitted plans for two large wind turbines off the A140 near Eye.
Mid Suffolk District Council has received the application from Wind Power Renewables for two 130m-high masts on farmland on the edge of the Eye Airfield industrial estate.
The company, which is based near Stalham, said the scheme would generate enough renewable energy to power more than 3,600 homes.
The firm says the local community would receive around 6,800 a year for the 25 year life span of the project. A further 10,000 is also being offered for conservation measures.
In a report to the district council, Wind Power Renewables, said the plans would not cause a significant impact on local residents.
The applicant added that the level of impact would not differ from the proposals for two turbines that have been approved for the Roy Humphrey group at the Eye Airfield.
