Firefighters were called out to reports of a capsized boat in King's Lynn only to find out that the stricken vessel was a water ski ramp.

The Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service received a call from a member of the public about what was thought to be a capsized boat in the Mill Road area of Wiggenhall St Germans, near King's Lynn.

Crews and the rescue boat from King's Lynn were mobilised to the emergency at about 4.45pm on Sunday (October 14).

But the emergency turned out to be a false alarm.

A fire service spokesman said the object reported to them was in fact a ramp for a water ski club.

Meanwhile, the rescue boat from Carrow was called out with a crew from Aylsham to help rescue a horse from water at The Street, Aylsham at just after 5pm today.
