The mayors and chairmen of Norfolk have visited Thetford as part of the Norfolk Grand Tour.
The dignitaries are visiting ten locations around the county today ahead of Norfolk Day on July 27 to showcase much of what the county has to offer.
They met at the much-loved Captain Mainwaring statue and Bench.
The Breckland town is home to the Dad’s Army Museum, with the popular BBC sitcom filmed in the town and surrounding villages.
Breckland councillor Ian Sherwood, who is a Norfolk Day champion, said: “It is rising the profile of the county. Norfolk has so much to offer.
“There are people who were born in Norfolk and who have lived here all their lives and are still finding parts they have not seen.”
Thetford mayor Roy Brame added: “Thetford really is the heritage gateway of Norfolk.
“We have Thomas Paine, Duleep Singh and of course Dad’s Army. People also seem to forget Charles Burrell, who was the first to bring the steam industry to Norfolk.
“We have a fantastic history.”
