Celebrations have been taking place across mid Norfolk to mark the first ever Norfolk Day.
Shoppers stopped for a well needed cold drink, rest in the shade and a good ol Norfolk Mardle in the High Street.
Mid Norfolk Mardle was hosted by Love Dereham, Dereham Baptist Church and Green Pastures bookshop.
Children were invited to 'hook a duck', make a mask and everyone was offered a cold drink and a chance to get a little relief from the weather, on the hottest day of the year so far.
The Dereham Meeting Point, a community centre based on St Withburga Lane, hosted a 1940's evacuee themed afternoon tea and dance event, with around 75 people turning up dressed in blouses and military wear.
The event signified Norfolk's link to the evacuees during World War Two, with many being sent to the county from London and Shonette Mooney, who organised the event, said: 'We thought we'd do something like this because it invokes memories and people can come and share their stories.
'We've had memorabilla on the table for people to look at and people have brought their own things too. We've also had an evacuees talk, singing and dancing and a hog roast. I'm glad we've had such a good turnout and it's been a great success.'
Military vehicles were on show thanks to the Norfolk Military Vehicle Group and and those attending were able to dance to songs from the decade sung by a professional singer.
Businesses across mid Norfolk are also joining in with the Norfolk Day celebrations. The Aldiss Store in Fakenham is decorated with Norfolk coloured balloons and bunting, with staff donning specially made t-shirts with slogans associated with the county on them.
Darryl Simpson, managing director of the store, said: 'We saw the publicity around the first ever Norfolk day and as a business that has been in Norfolk since 1892 we thought we would do our bit to support it.'
Yaxham Waters got into the spirit of Norfolk Day by producing a specially created 'celebration of the sea' menu, while Dereham Indoor Bowling Centre held a free open day between 10am and 2pm.
A Norfolk knowledge quiz is also taking place at Dereham Library this evening and in Fakenham, displays of old scrapbooks compiled over four decades from the late 1930s until the early 1970s could be viewed in Fakenham Library.
The Wisteria Tea room on Norwich Street in Fakenham is serving a special Norfolk arternune tea and Woodspring House residential care home is hosting an open day and barbecue with live music from Banjo-Man.
