Parents-to-be Josh Lamb and Marcella Allen went to great heights to announce their baby news to the world.

The couple from Horning headed to Sea Palling beach to carve out the announcement in the sand and filmed it using a drone which orbited the beach.

Since the video was uploaded to Facebook on Tuesday last week, the family has been inundated with messages of congratulations.

Mr Lamb of Lower Street, Horning said: 'It was so hard to keep it a secret. We told the families first and then decided to tell everyone else with that video.

'We really wanted to do something different.

'We have been shocked with the response, it's been shared hundreds of times and we have had lots of really good feedback.'

Josh's three-year-old step son Jayden was also on hand to play his part in the big announcement.

Josh added: 'You can see in the video he is running everywhere and making his own little marks.

'He loves the beach and he loves the drone as well, he was really excited.'

The family had to battle with the elements to perfect their video as they had to contend with the North Norfolk tides and wind.

Josh said: 'When we first went down the tide was right in and it was too windy for the drone, so we went back just before it got dark.'

The 24-year-old is taking a training course to use the drone professionally and is hoping to launch his own aerial photography business in the new year.

The couple's baby is expected next May and they are not ruling out making another video with a drone to announce the gender of their new family member.
