Norfolk coroner William Armstrong has been announced as a new patron for Norfolk bereaved children's charity Nelson's Journey.
Mr Armstrong has been supportive of the work of Nelson's Journey for many years and has recently worked with the Thorpe St Andrew-based charity and the Norfolk Coroners Service Advisory Group to produce what is believed to be the first leaflet specifically for children and young people about the Coroner's Service.
Nelson's Journey chief executive, Colin Lang, said: 'We are delighted that William Armstrong has become a Patron of Nelson's Journey. He has great knowledge of the impact an unexpected or unexplained death can have on a family and specifically children and young people.
'We look forward to working with him and other patrons to help develop and raise awareness of the services that we offer.'
Mr Armstrong added: 'it was a privilege to become a patron of Nelson's Journey and to take a role in supporting and promoting the valuable and vital work of helping bereaved youngsters.'
