A Norfolk actress is one of the stars of a new teenage web series that is said to be proving a hit online.

The Night School web series, based on the books by author CJ Daugherty, is directed by BAFTA-nominated director Jack Jewers and it is thought to be the first time a British book series has been produced for an online audience.

It tells the story of Allie Sheridan, a school girl at Cimmeria Academy which is an exclusive private school that hides a dark secret.

Actress Grace Parry, from Wymondham, plays Katie Gilmore, the mean girl who is grudgingly disdainful of Allie, Night School's heroine.

Grace, who has also recently been filming for the ITV series Mr Selfridge, said: 'Night School was some of the most fun I've had filming in 2014. Katie was something of a new and exciting challenge for me. There was something very exhilarating as an actress, having to unleash my inner 'mean girl' for the role.'

Grace said she was inspired to pursue an acting career from an early age.

She said: 'I grew up watching plays and musicals at the Theatre Royal and every time I'd come out with such a great buzz, feeling inspired and knowing I'd picked up the acting bug. As a teenager I went to Norwich Young People's Theatre every weekend.'

The Night School series has already been proving popular - The Night School YouTube channel has received 400,000 views, episodes three and four (Grace's solo episode) have both won the Indie Series Network's Web Series of the Week and the series has been invited to appear at the Marseilles Web Festival in October 2015. The web series is produced by Trailermade Films. To see the web series visit www.Youtube.com/NightSchoolBook
