A repeat of this week's snow is 'out of the question' for the rest of the week, weather forecasters have said, although it could potentially return on Sunday.

The snowy conditions on Saturday night and Sunday morning saw many people taking advantage of the unusually-early winter conditions.

But Adam Dury, of Weatherquest, said this week would be milder, although there was the potential for conditions that could lead to snow next Sunday - although that was still a long way off.

He said that, after a frosty start this morning, the weather would gradually warm up throughout the day, and be pretty sunny through the morning, although it could become more hazy in the afternoon.

He said: 'As a front comes down from the north, temperatures will keep on the milder side. It does not look like there will be a frost tonight.'

He added it was looking mild throughout most of the week, with a high of 8-9 degrees by Wednesday.
