A musical Christmas tree, giant snow globe and a robotic reindeer will all be on display at intu Chapelfield later this week.

The shopping centre is inviting people to get into the Christmas spirit as part of its Festive Lights Night on Thursday.

It will officially mark the start of late night shopping in Norwich and runs from 5pm to 9pm.

Sheridan Smith, the centre's marketing manager, said: 'The theme for Christmas at intu Chapelfield this year is 'come and play' because there will be so many fun and interactive things for families to do here in the shopping centre.

'As well as a night of great entertainment and activities for the whole family, it will be an event brimming with ideas and inspiration to get people into the Christmas spirit.'

During the evening people will have the chance to sing a selection of Christmas hits in the festive karaoke booth and take part in numerous competitions and giveaways.

There will also be a Christmas cracker trail that families can follow to find hidden toys around the store.

People who complete the trail will then be entered into a prize draw to win gift cards worth up to £100.

As with previous years, one of the main attractions will be the musical Christmas tree on Chapelfield Plain, which plays a light show every 30 minutes.

The centre will also be displaying its new star-themed decorations.

Mrs Smith added: 'As well as a night of great entertainment and activities for the whole family, it will be an event brimming with ideas and inspiration to get people into the Christmas spirit.'
