EDP24 had a new broadcaster today, when 14-year-old Susie Mack tried her hand as an online newsreader.
Susie was a winner in our fundraising EDP Christmas Auction to take a look behind the scenes at how the news website really works.
She wrote and broadcast her very own news bulletin, with the help of EDP feature writer and news-reader Angi Kennedy.
Susie, who lives near Downham Market, said she was “thrilled” by the opportunity to find out how newspapers and news bulletins are put together.
“As I am interested in journalism, I found the day very enjoyable and informative,” said Susie, a student at St Mary's School in Cambridge.
Her father, Dr Ian Mack, had placed the winning bid for the prize lot in the auction, which raised a terrific total of £3000 for the EDP We Care Appeal.
“Part of the reason why my dad was keen to take part in the auction was because he believes it was for such a good cause,” she added.
