A new post office is to be opened at Brancaster Staithe tomorrow but it won't be officially operating until Monday .

It is to be run by former hairdresser Tania Southerland who will be given her training while working behind the counter and serving customers.

It is to be run by former hairdresser Tania Southerland who will be given her training while working behind the counter and serving customers.

The new post office, which is being run from premises adjoining The Fish Shed in the centre of the village, is housed within a shop selling a variety of fancy goods, gifts and confectionery.

The official opening at 10am tomorrow will be performed by the former sub post mistress, Eva Everitt and the village's oldest resident, Catherine Southerland.

From Monday the post office will be open from 9am until 1pm five days a week and the shop will be open seven days a week.
