A City trader is swapping life in London's fast lane for the chance to run a pub in north Suffolk.

Mark Sanders and his fiancee Becky Lewis have left behind their old lives for the chance to run the White Swan pub in Bungay – all in the name of sibling rivalry.

Mr Sanders works as a senior dealer on the London Metal Exchange and is commuting to and from London while they settle into life at the pub, working 20-hour days with shifts behind the bar before getting a few hours' sleep and leaving at 4.15am every day.

While running a pub has always been a dream for the couple, the deci-sion to uproot and move to Suffolk came as something of a surprise.

Mr Sanders, 37, said: 'My brother James has been running the Black Horse pub in Earlham Road, Norwich, for some time and every time I visited, I was envious of his job and thought I could do it too.

'When the brewery wanted someone to take on the White Swan, James was approached and suggested me. They called and Becky and I had 50 minutes to make the decision. I'll admit that my main motivation is sibling rivalry but what better reason is there?'
