Budding football players will have a fresh new look on the pitch thanks to a generous donation from a national company.

Taverham Football Club's under 8s team has a new training kit after a £350 donation from Anglian Home Improvements.

Under 8s team coach Leon Huckle said: 'Taverham FC encourages youth teams, including local boys and girls, to train and compete in a sport they enjoy.

'We are proud to have a variety of teams and age groups on board as we approach the start of another exciting season.

'The support from businesses such as Anglian Home Improvements means we can continue to support younger members of the community to fulfil their aspirations to regularly play football.

'We are all thankful to Anglian Home Improvements for its generous donation. The team will certainly look the part on the pitch when training.'

Taverham FC has a long and successful history of developing youth football in Norfolk.

With 25 teams ready for the 2017/18 season, it has over 550 boys and girls representing the club between the ages of six and under and 16 and under, playing in the Norfolk Combined Youth Football League and the Norfolk Women's and Girls Football League.

Taverham FC is based at Hinks Meadow off Kingswood Avenue, Taverham, on the outskirts of Norwich.
