An operator has been appointed to run a new pilot bus service in Wisbech.
It will replace the Tesco 66 service which was withdrawn by Stagecoach last year.
Launching later this year, the service will provide access to Tesco and businesses on Cromwell Road. It has been developed to improve access to healthcare, education and community facilities. The route will also include parts of South and North-West Wisbech that are not currently served by public transport.
The service will initially run on a year’s trial, with the intention of continuing it if it proves to be a success.
Full details of the route, timetable and start date will be made available once the service registration has been finalised, which is expected to be within the next three months. Residents can sign up to be notified about the service at neighbourhoodstrategy@fenland.gov.uk or by calling 01354 622318.
