A new programme of arts and music including Edinburgh Fringe winners and vibrant local musical talent will take place this Autumn across Breckland.
Recent winners of the 'Spirit of Edinburgh Fringe 2018', Bowjangles , an all singing, dancing and comedy string quartet group, are headlining the new Autumn tour programme, which is set to visit multiple locations including Thetford, Swaffham, Watton, East Harling, Dereham and Attleborough from October through to late November.
This collection of events starts with a series of soulful singing and African drumming workshops from the award winning Zimbabwean artist Anna Mudeka, who will be holding her free to attend workshops in Thetford Library on October 1, followed by workshops in Dereham and Swaffham on October 2, then Attleborough and Watton on October 3.
The African singer will then return later in November for a series of highly acclaimed performances across Breckland.
A Silver Social spokesperson commented: 'Everyone is welcome to come along and try a new workshop activity for free or watch a high quality performance for only £5 a ticket. Refreshments are complimentary and free local transport is available to all our events.'
Celebrated local musicians Joe Mace and Carl Cole will also be hosting a series of free creative music making workshops across Breckland in November in East Harling, Swaffham, Watton and Attleborough.
Bowjangles, the energetic string quartet fresh from presenting their 2018 Edinburgh Festival award winning show, complete the Silver Social Autumn programme with 'Excalibow', which includes an array of different genres.
The 'Excalibow' show starts its Breckland tour on November 26 at Attleborough Methodist Church at 2pm and then visits Swaffham, Dereham, East Harling and concludes at Watton Christian Community Church Centre on Friday November 30 at 2pm.
Silver Social is an ambitious arts programme offering daytime events aimed at older people in local communities across Breckland.
It is managed by Breckland Council with strategic touring funding from Arts Council England and aims to engage people in new activities while reducing their risk of isolation.
