Police were continuing to question three men last night in connection with an attempted murder in north Norfolk.

The men from the King's Lynn area were being kept in custody while police continue investigations into the shooting at a caravan next to the busy A148 Fakenham-Lynn road at Tattersett on Wednesday evening.

A 31-year-old King's Lynn woman is still receiving treatment for serious injuries to her hand at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn.

A fourth man - a 50-year-old from the Hunstanton area - arrested on suspicion of burglary in connection with the inquiry was released yesterday morning without charge.

The three men in police custody - aged 20, 29 and 46 - were arrested in the early hours of Thursday at Birchanger, Essex.

Norfolk Police's major investigation team is continuing its probe into the shooting and has appealed for help from people with information, which can be given in confidence.

The incident happened at about 7.45pm on Wednesday at the caravan located among a collection of run-down sheds in an untidy field about 50 yards from the Tattersett/Coxford crossroads.

It is thought the people involved knew each other and it is believed the shooting was part of an ongoing feud.
