A moped rider suffered broken bones in a collision with a car on the A140 at Hainford today.

Police were called to the incident at Serpentine Lane at 5.45pm. The driver of the car was uninjured and the moped driver taken to hospital.

Traffic was diverted and congestion was caused until the road was reopened at 8.25pm.

Also on the A140, at the junction of Burgh Road, three cars were involved in a collision at 5.13pm, which saw fire crews using cutting equipment to take the roof of one of the vehicles to free a trapped adult.

Two appliances from Aylsham and one from Reepham attended, also assisting the ambulance service with casualty care, the incident was over at 5.56pm with the road reopening some time after.

Three adults were taken to hospital with what was described as minor injuries.
