Plans have been unveiled to open a new holiday park, near Dereham, which would feature luxury lodges and an outdoor swimming pond.
The scheme aims to bring high quality tourist accommodation to the area to help fill the demands brought on by the growing number of tourists visiting the region.
The development, at Beetley, has already been selected by holiday rentals company, Hoseasons, to join its collection of 23 luxury sites across the nation.
The owner of the development, Gary Holley, said: 'The demand is outstripping the supply and we see a great opportunity in this sector. I've lived in Norfolk all my life and feel privileged to share all of the delights this beautiful region has to offer with tourists.'
Planning permission has been granted for an initial five holiday homes, which will be complemented with an outdoor swimming pond in the centre of development, which can be used by residents, as well as people living nearby through a limited release membership scheme.
Mr Holly is also on the verge of submitting a planning permission application for the second phase of the development, which will add additional homes to the site along with facilities such as a children's play area and a shop.
A 'buy to rent' scheme will made available in this second phase.
The development is projected to bring a number of jobs to the area, ranging from cleaning and maintenance roles to administration and retail. The additional tourism could also have the knock on effect of creating bringing more business to the local area.
In a letter of support from the tourism organisation Visit East Anglia, executive director Pete Walters, gave support to the development and wrote: 'What particularly appeals to us about the project is the quality nature of its accommodation in an area of Norfolk where this is sparse.'
Mr Holly was inspired to develop the holiday site in Norfolk after seeing the success and demand for an existing holiday rental property that he currently owns and runs in Necton, near Swaffham.
He recently applied for planning permission to also expand that original site, known as 'Old Coach House', by adding four single storey holiday lodges.
This application is based on a specially commissioned report that concluded there is a shortage of tourist accommodation.
