MOTORISTS have experienced delays in Lowestoft today (July 27) following reports of traffic problems at the Bascule Bridge.
Suffolk police received reports of a hold up along the A12 near Station Square at 3.30pm amid claims that the three-lane traffic system had been reduced to two lanes.
Concerns were raised that a potential signal fault may have caused the problems.
But the Highways Agency said there was no reports of a signal failure – despite recording heavy traffic at the crossing during the afternoon.
