A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital after a crash on Belvedere Road, Lowestoft.

Police were called just after 2.30 this afternoon (Thursday) to reports of a collision between a Vauxhall Astra car and a motorbike – at the junction with London Road South and Belvedere Road.

The East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EEAST) sent a rapid response vehicle and ambulance vehicle to treat the motorcyclist, believed to be a man in his late teens, who had suffered a broken leg.

He was then taken to the James Paget University Hospital for further treatment and is not believed to be in a life-threatening condition.

Northbound routes into Lowestoft via The A12 and London Road South are currently closed- but access to ASDA supermarket still remains open, a police spokesman has said it will remain closed until further updates are available.
