A 35-year-old motorcyclist was killed after a head-on crash with a car close to a popular picnic site in Thetford Forest.

The man was riding his yellow Suzuki DR400 towards Mundford on the A134 at Lynford, near Thetfor, near the Two Mile Bottom car park on Sunday at 4.25am when he was in collision with a red Peugeot 106 travelling in the opposite direction.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Peugeot driver, a 37-year-old man from Kent, was uninjured.

Officers investigating the collision want to speak to any witnesses to the incident or the manner of driving of either vehicle immediately before the crash.

The motorcyclist wore a distinctive rucksack on his back.
