More than 30 firefighters were called to tackle a cornfield blaze that broke out in Wretton, near King’s Lynn.
Crews from Methwold, Downham Market, Kings Lynn North, Kings Lynn South, Watton and Thetford attended the fire in the 28 acre cornfield on West Dereham Road.
The fire service were called at midday on Monday, July 7 to the scene with 38 fire fighters taking on the fire using hose reel jets and water carrying back-packs to extinguish it.
A farmer was able to help stop the fire by using his plough to cut it off.
A Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “The farmer’s plough was in attendance to help create a fire break – essentially cutting a line across the crop to give the fire less to feed off.”
No-one is believed to have been injured.
