A charity which supports visually impaired people in Norfolk has received a funding boost of more than £1,400 following a series of collections across the county.

The Norfolk and Norwich Association for the Blind (NNAB), which has been helping people in the county with sight problems for more than 200 years, has been donated a total of £1, 461.64 following a number of flag day and street collections last month.

Money raised for the charity, which is based in Magpie Road, Norwich, last month, included donations from:

Hoveton (£114.49); Roys Bowthorpe (£212.10); Asda Norwich (£103.60); Asda Great Yarmouth (£345.42); Roys Magdalen Street, Norwich (£70.29); B&Q, Norwich (£130.83); Tesco and Fakenham (£57.12).

There were also collections in Norwich, which raised £149.08, Reepham, which raised £104.42) and Holt which raised £174.29.
