A search on land and at sea was launched on Friday evening as police tracked down a man described as 'high risk'.
Lifeboats from Hunstanton and Wells were launched to add to an inland search that included the use of a police helicopter around the Holme Next The Sea area, near Hunstanton on the north-west Norfolk coast.
The missing man was believed to be in the village and the lifeboats were eventually stood down after he was found there.
The large-scale search was scrambled because of fading light and the urgency to find the vulnerable man quickly.
