Missing Brandon man sparks river search

Searches are being carried out of the Little River Ouse in Brandon following reports of a missing man.

Robert Arnold, 65 from Beechfields, Brandon, was reported missing to police yesterday (Thursday) afternoon, but has not been seen since 8pm on May 21.

His car has since been found in the car park of Aldi in the town, which is close to the river.

Mr Arnold is described as white, 5ft 6in, medium build with short wavy fair hair and a beard. He is known to wear two hearing aids and thought to be wearing jeans and a quilted anorak.

Suffolk Police, Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service and Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue are now searching the river off the High Street, Brandon, towards Littleport.

The police helicopter is also being used.

Anyone who has seen Mr Arnold or knows where he is should contact the duty sergeant at Mildenhall Police on 101.
