A student from South Norfolk has become one of around three lucky people to land a job as a practice partner at Wimbledon.
Mike Digby arrived at the famous tennis site on Wednesday, June 27, and will remain there for the duration of the competition.
The 20-year-old is being paid to be on-call to help Wimbledon contestants practice before matches, and has already played against several of the world’s top 50 tennis champions.
He has yet to practice against the big faces of the game, such as Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, but will do so in the coming fortnight.
Mr Digby, of Norwich Road in Wymondham, is currently studying on a tennis scholarship at Davenport University in Michegan majoring in Sports Management, where his coach put him in contact with the Wimbledon practice team.
He said: “It’s a great experience. You learn from the way they play.”
