Finding new homes for unwanted items in their village helped the Vogels take the title of Breckland's greenest family.

Finding new homes for unwanted items in their village helped the Vogels take the title of Breckland's greenest family.

Tim, Biddy, and their three children, Elizabeth, eight, Naomi, six, and Laura, three, won the Breckland Council competition after impressing judges with their eco-friendly lifestyle.

The family, from Sporle, near Swaffham, have won 100 in vouchers to spend on ethical products, 250 towards a vegetable delivery scheme and a free one-year leisure pass for the whole family.

Mr Vogel said: 'I was really surprised when they told us we had won. We don't consider ourselves to be particularly green, we just live our lives in a way that reduces any kind of waste.'
