Hundreds of works of art have been created over the years to celebrate the legend of Saint George and the Dragon - including a quirky piece of graffiti found in a Norfolk church.

A piece of medieval graffiti from Marsham's All Saints Church depicting St George battling the Dragon is causing a stir online for being amusingly bad.

An image of the graffiti was shared on Twitter by Matthew Champion of the Norfolk Medieval Graffiti Survey, also known as @MedievalG.

His tweet asked if this was 'Medieval England's worst ever depiction of St George and the dragon'.

He said: 'It's a piece of late medieval graffiti that probably depicts a medieval mummers play of St George and the dragon.

'It's featured in a couple of publications and in an exhibition in Cambridge, but never ceased to amaze me just how popular it is. One of our poorer pieces of medieval graffiti - but with a certain charm.'

Many people have since responded to the tweet, sharing their love for the child-like graffiti.

Ian Simmons wrote: 'I want a tattoo of that!'

While Adrian Powter added: 'Much better than some I've seen. It gets my vote.'
