The Sainsbury Centre of Visual Arts (SCVA) has been given a superhero makeover once more as it returns as Avengers HQ in the latest Spider-Man reboot.
Just two years after the gallery featured in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Robert Downey Jr returns as Iron Man along with a brand new cast for Marvel’s latest offering Spider-Man: Homecoming.
The SCVA tweeted the news on Friday morning: “So #Spider-Man fans, Have you manage to spot our cameo as #Marvel Avengers HQ?”
The university also tweeted: “Is your Spider-Sense tingling? @SainsburyCentre returns to screens as #AvengersHQ in the Marvel blockbuster #SpiderManHomecoming, out now!”
The new film stars Tom Holland as the title role, who played Billy Elliot on London’s West End, and is the second reboot of the Spider-Man film franchise.

Penelope Lucas, Head of Marketing and Communications at the SCVA, said: “I was contacted a few days ago by Sony Pictures in Los Angeles, who have worked with Marvel on this film, for permissions to be granted to re-use some of the original shots from Age of Ultron.
“We are very proud to be approached again and of course It is fantastic publicity not only for the Sainsbury Centre but also the University of East Anglia.”
The SCVA, located on the UEA campus, welcomed stars such as Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson and Chris Hemsworth back in 2014 for Avengers: Age of Ultron and held auditions for extras on campus.
