A manhunt has begun after a woman was subjected to a serious sexual assault in a south Norfolk town.

Detectives are appealing for information following the offence that took place at a property in Mendham Lane, Harleston.

The incident took place sometime between 1.30pm and 1.45pm last Tuesday, but police have only today issued an appeal for information.

The victim, a woman in her 30s, was assaulted by a male who then left the scene.

The offender was white, between 35 and 40 years old, about 5ft 10inches tall, of stocky build with greying mousy brown hair. He was wearing a bottle green trousers and a green sweatshirt.

Police believe the suspect may have been working in the area around the time of incident and would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed a man fitting the above description.
