A man in his 20s suffered serious head injuries after he was assaulted by a stranger.

The victim had just left Mission Bar on Marine Parade when he was assaulted and he fell to the floor hitting his head on the pavement.

He suffered serious head injuries and was taken to James Paget Hospital in Gorleston. He has since been released with ongoing support.

The incident happened at approximately 3.30am on Saturday, October 1.
