A MAN was robbed of his mobile phone at knifepoint by three teenage boys in Lowestoft.

The incident happened on Monday at about 5.30pm when an 18-year-old had been sitting on bench near the Bowling Green at Sparrows Nest gardens with a female friend.

The three teenagers – described as white and aged around 15 or 16 – walked past the pair and made a comment to them.

Moments later, the man and his 17-year-old friend realised they were being followed by the youths after they walked out, through the caravan site and onto the sea wall heading north.

The teenage boys demanded the 18-year-old hand over his phone and he saw one of the males holding a knife.

The youths then took his phone and ran south towards the third youth who was waiting for them.

One of the teenagers is described as about 6ft tall, of slim build with messy dark hair, a long face and a tanned complexion. He was wearing tracksuit trousers and a dark hooded top and had a scarf or similar partially over his face. The second youth was shorter at about 5ft 8ins tall, of slim build, with lighter coloured hair and wearing dark clothing, while the third was around 5ft 7ins with dark unkempt hair and was also wearing a dark hooded top.

Anyone who may have seen the incident, the three youths, or has information should call DC 969 Coulson at Lowestoft CID on 101.
