A man has been rescued the mud bank of a river in Great Yarmouth after getting into difficulty.

The ambulance service requested the assistance of the RNLI to help rescue the man who was stuck between two bridges.

A spokesman for the coastguard said: 'A man was assisted from a mud bank and was helped back to the ambulance crew who were waiting on land.'

On the Great Yarmouth & Gorleston Lifeboat facebook page, a post stated that they were tasked to assist person in the water between the two bridges.

The post continued: 'When the in-land boat was on scene a person was on the shore with ambulance crew but ambulance crew had to climb over a fence to get to him.

'So in-land boat recovered both casualty and ambulance crew member back to lifeboat station where they went to James Paget Hopsital from there.'
