Man falls ill and crashes into bus stop in Norfolk village

A man was taken to hospital in the early hours of this morning after crashing his car into a bus stop in Horsford.

The 60-year-old is believe to have fallen ill while driving and veered into the bus stop near the Pinelands Industrial Estate on the B1149 Holt Road through the village.

Emergency services were called to the scene around 6.30am and the man was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

Fire crews from Sprowston and Earlham attended the crash to carry out vehicle stability and scene safety procedures, as well as provide casualty care and assist the ambulance and police crews who also attended.
