Trains are delayed between Ipswich and Lowestoft via Saxmundham after a man was struck by a train between Somerleyton and Oulton Broad North.
A coach service ran from Oulton Broad North to Norwich while the incident was being investigated.
A British Transport Police spokesperson said: 'BTP officers were called to the line close to Oulton Broad station after a report that a man had been struck by a train.
'Officers from the BTP attended the incident, which was reported at 17:57 and is being treated as non-suspicious. Medics from the ambulance service also attended but the man was pronounced deceased at the scene. A file will be prepared for the coroner.'
The train involved was a Norwich to Lowestoft service.
The line was handed back to Network Rail at 19:54 hours.
