A man has died after going into cardiac arrest on Hemsby beach.

Police were called at 7.44am on Sunday (October 24) by paramedics and lifeboat crew members who were treating a man.

Two road ambulances and the air ambulance attended, as well as several police cars with officers helping to keep people at a distance.

Hemsby Lifeboat said it was second on the scene with the first of the ambulances, and was active in providing CPR until the rest of the medics arrived with the police and air ambulance.

Its crew members also provided a screening perimeter.

The man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “Two ambulances, a senior paramedic in a response vehicle and the East Anglian Air Ambulance attended a medical emergency on the beach at Hemsby just after 7.45am on Sunday.

"Sadly, despite the best efforts of paramedics, an adult man died.”

People in the village reported a large emergency services presence with sirens alerting them to an incident and the air ambulance landing in the dunes, they said.
