A 38-year-old man was due to appear at Lowestoft magistrates court this morning charged with two shed burglaries in the south of the town recently.

Keith Grout, of Waterloo Road, Kirkley, was originally arrested on February 15 in connection with the break-ins that happened on or around Friday, January 31, and he was bailed for further inquiries.

He was detained yesterday and subsequently charged with stealing an electric jigsaw from a shed in the back garden of a home in Kirkley Park Road and with stealing £440 worth of tools including two drills and a circular saw from a shed and garage at a home in Carlton Road.

After being charged with the two counts of burglary he was kept in custody overnight pending an appearance before Lowestoft magistrates this morning.
