Man charged with production of cannabis after police raid in Lowestoft uncovers �85,000 haul

A MAN has been charged with production of cannabis after more than 200 plants - estimated to have a potential street value 'in excess of �85,000' - were uncovered in Lowestoft.

'Phuong Duong, 40, of no fixed abode, is due to appear at Ipswich Magistrates Court this morning (Wednesday) charged with production of cannabis,' a police spokesman said.

More than 200 plants, estimated to have a potential street value in excess of �85,000 - according to police - were discovered by officers from the Territorial Support Team, based in the town, during the raid on premises in Long Road yesterday.

'Officers carried out a warrant at an address in Long Road about 10am on Tuesday morning,' a police spokesman said.

'Cannabis was being grown in three rooms and a 40-year-old man was subsequently arrested.'

He was subsequently charged and is due to appear at Ipswich Magistrates Court today.
