A 21-year-old man has been charged with two counts of burglary after break-ins at homes in Acton Road and Victoria Road in Lowestoft recently.

Jake Rowlands, of Roman Road in the town, was in a vehicle stopped by police officers on patrol in Yarmouth Road about 3am yesterday morning (Sunday, August 21).

The officers carried out a search of the vehicle and recovered items including a quantity of drugs, hand tools and jewellery.

He and a 19-year-old man who was with him in the vehicle were arrested and taken into custody at Lowestoft police station where they were interviewed by officers. The 19-year-old man, also from the town, has now been bailed to return to Lowestoft police station on October 19.

Jake Rowlands was charged with the burglaries at Acton Road between August 10 and 20 and at Victoria Road between August 7 and 14 and with going equipped for theft, possession of cocaine and possession of cannabis, and has been detained in custody pending an appearance at Lowestoft Magistrates Court this morning (Monday, August 22).
