A 40-year-old man has been charged following an appeal for information after a burglary in Lowestoft.

Daniel Pearce, 40, of Chestnut Avenue, Lowestoft, has been arrested and is remanded in custody in connection with the burglary at a home in Blackberry Way in Oulton Broad on September 26.

During the burglary, a large safe containing cash and jewellery, including watches was removed, but was later recovered from woodland nearby minus many of the valuables inside.

Pearce was arrested on September 30, when he was interviewed and charged. He was detained and appeared at Norwich Magistrates Court on October 1, where he was remanded in custody.

He is now due to appear at Ipswich Crown Court on October 31.

A second man – a 41-year-old from Lowestoft - was also arrested but has now been released on police bail pending further enquiries. He is due to return to officers on November 2.
