Man bailed after stabbing in Dereham

A man arrested in connection with a serious assault in Dereham yesterday has been released on bail while enquiries continue.

Police, including armed officers, were called to The Maltings yesterday at about 6.45am following reports a man had been wounded with a knife.

The victim, a man in his 20s, suffered an injury to his hand and was taken to the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital for treatment.

A man in his 50s was arrested on suspicion of assault and following the search of a property, four knives were seized.

He was taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning and later released on bail until July 21.
