Man arrested for possession of cannabis was carrying a sword in Lowestoft

A 50-year-old man, arrested by police, was allegedly wielding a sword in north Lowestoft.

Officers were called at about 6.20am this morning to a property in the town.

A police spokesman said: 'A 50-year-old man was arrested shortly after 7am.

'He has been taken into custody on suspicion of affray and possession of cannabis.

'A small sword-type weapon was seized.'
