Ambulances were sent to Crabgate Lane North, at around 4pm yesterday, to a report that a man who had suffered burns from a bonfire.
The East Anglian Air Ambulance was also sent to the scene.
They treated a man, believed to be in his 40s, who had suffered serious burns to his legs.
He was airlifted to Broomfield Hospital in Essex for further treatment.
His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
