An 88-year-old man has been given first aid by firefighters and paramedics after suffering a head injury in an incident in Thetford.

The man was found hurt on Norwich Road after he was believed to have struck his head on the pavement.

Tony White, from Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service, said it was unclear how he had been injured.

'He had hurt his head when he hit the pavement, but we're not sure if a vehicle was involved or not.

'Two of our firefighters attended and gave first aid and trauma care at the scene before the ambulance service arrived and took over,' he said.
