A 60-year-old man was airlifted to hospital after injuring his neck in a fall at Bawdeswell Heath, near Reepham.
The man had been walking with his family when he fell in woodland about half-a-mile from the road on Monday afternoon.
Medics helped a land ambulance crew and immobilised his spine before flying him to the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital.
He arrived at the hospital at about 4pm and his condition was described as stable.
