Major roadworks will be taking place on the A143 at Fritton later this month.

Overnight between Monday, March 28 and Saturday, April 2, a section of the A143 Beccles Road will be closed due to 280m of resurfacing work between the entrances to Coldecott Hall and Fritton Lake.

The work is being carried out overnight from 7pm to 7am to reduce its impact on traffic, with the road will be open to traffic during the day.

During the overnight closures the diversion route from the south side of the closure at Fritton is the A143 south to Gillingham, turning east along the A146 to Carlton Colville and Oulton Broad, heading north on the A1117 to join the A12 before rejoining A143 in Gorleston and returning to Fritton.

Throughout the work, access to properties and business will be maintained from one or other depending upon the point of working.

Norfolk County Council has apologised for the inconvenience the maintenance will cause, calling the work 'essential.'

The work which will cost 140,000 will be carried out by Norfolk County Council's Environment, Transport and Development Partnership and their contractors.
