A major fire broke out last night at one of East Anglia’s biggest commercial waste and recycling companies.
At least five vehicles are thought to have been destroyed in the blaze at the March depot of Glazewing
Four fire crews were called to the Hostmoor Avenue premises police have put up an unofficial cordon to prevent onlookers getting too close to the fire.
Eye witnesses have spoken of hearing at least one explosion – thought possibly to be a fuel tank from one of the lorries parked on the site.
An eye witness said: “I was sat at Tesco, saw the fire engine coming past, thought id come and have a look.
“I arrived at the scene, fire fighters got out of their trucks, and I heard two large explosions which I assume are fuel tanks.
“It looks like they’re dealing with it quite well.”
