There was all the more reason for people to enjoy their coffee and tea yesterday morning, as hundreds of people helped raise funds to fight cancer.
Macmillan's biggest coffee morning was back and at Lynnsport, King's Lynn, staff were hoping to top last years £500 total.
Visitor Cameron Quinn, 22, from King's Lynn, said: 'It's so important that we have Macmillan coffee mornings. My mum had cancer twice, 15 years ago and 20 years ago, so it's really good to raise awareness and get everyone to raise money.'
Meanwhile, Lowestoft Town Council celebrated its official office opening with an event.
A trolly of cakes and baked goods along with tea and coffee welcomed the public on Friday morning.
Shona Bendix, clerk for the town council, said: 'We wanted to combine the public meeting our councillors and seeing out new offices with something that's charitable, so we're delighted to be supporting Macmillan nurses and the wonderful services they deliver.'
